Who Is Covered?

Since 1913, employees injured in Minnesota have been entitled to workers' compensation benefits for conditions either caused or aggravated by a work injury or activity. A work-related disability can be caused by a specific event, the gradual effects of repetitious work activities over time, or occupational diseases contracted because of the hazards of the employment.

What Benefits Are Available?

Although the specific amounts and types of benefits are controlled by the law in effect at the time of the employee's injury, there are five main types of benefits available to injured workers:

Wage Replacement Benefits 

Functional Impairment Benefits 

Medical Benefits 

Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits

Death Benefits
